Sandhya Arati

Sandhya Arati (7:00 PM - 7.15 PM)

The ceremony begins one hour after sunset with the priest performing acamana purification, blowing the conch shell three times, and lighting incense and lamp from a candle, then offering each item in 7 clockwise circles - while ringing a bell. Devotees enthusiastically sing the Gaura Arati prayer, celebrating Lord Chaitanya, Nityananda, Advaita, Gadadhara, Srivasa, and Their ecstatic dancing and chanting, creating an uplifting atmosphere of communal devotion.

This "sandwich program" ritual—balancing morning and evening worship as recommended by Srila Prabhupada - rejuvenates the soul after daily duties, fostering surrender through kirtan and reminding participants of Gauranga's mercy in distributing Krishna's holy names. Often followed by Narasimha Arati, it concludes with conch blasts, prasada distribution, and pranama mantras, leaving devotees spiritually charged for the night.
