Hanuman Jayanthi - Significance and Celebrations

Hanuman Jayanthi commemorates the auspicious appearance day of Sri Hanuman, the devoted and eternal servitor of Lord Sri Ramachandra. Across India, there are countless temples dedicated to Sri Hanuman, and in many Vaishnava temples, a shrine to Him is an integral part. Devotees offer their worship and prayers to Sri Hanuman to remove obstacles in their devotional path.

In our temple, we have a Chaturbhuja Japanjaneya Swamy Temple, where we perform Abhishekam annually on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi.

The observance of Hanuman Jayanthi varies across different regions of the country. In certain areas, such as Maharashtra, it is celebrated on Chaitra Purnima. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the festival falls in the month of Margazhi (December–January). According to the Odiya calendar, it is celebrated on the first day of the Vaishaka month, while in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, it is observed on Vaishaka Krishna Dashami, the 10th day of the waning moon in the Vaishaka month. In our temple, Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated on Chaitra Purnima.

We warmly invite you all to participate online in the upcoming celebrations and seek the blessings of Sri Chaturbhuja Japanjaneya Swamy.
