Sri Brahmotsava Festival

Hare Krishna Golden Temple will celebrate the grand Sri Brahmotsava festival of Their Lordships from 14th to 19th November 2025. The week-long festivities begin with the sacred Abhishekam to Sri Mulavar Lakshmi Narasimha, which is performed only twice a year, followed by Ankurarpana, Dwajarohana, Homas, Kalyanotsava, Grand Churnabhishekam, and conclude with Dwaja avarohana and Samprokshana. Devotees are warmly invited to participate in the celebrations, offer prayers, and experience divine joy and spiritual bliss.

Pre-Festival Preparations

At the Hare Krishna Golden Temple, the sacred Abhishekam to Sri Mulavar Lakshmi Narasimha is performed only twice a year, making it a most auspicious and rare opportunity for devotees. The first Abhishekam takes place before Ankurarpana during the Sri Brahmotsava festival, marking the commencement of the grand celebrations and invoking divine blessings for the successful completion of all rituals. The second occurs during Sri Narasimha Jayanthi, celebrating the divine appearance of Lord Narasimha, the protector of His devotees. During the Abhishekam, Their Lordships are bathed with sanctified substances such as milk, honey, ghee, and fragrant waters, accompanied by Vedic chants and bhajans, filling the atmosphere with spiritual energy and devotion.

On 14th November, starting at 6:00 PM, various rituals will be performed, including Rakshabandhana, Mrtsangrahana, Anukurarpana, Garuda Pata Pratishta, and Vainateya Homa. These ceremonies are conducted to invoke the Lord’s grace and the blessings of His associates, as well as to sanctify the festival paraphernalia.

Dhwaja Arohana: Hoisting of the Festival Flag

The festival will officially begin on 15th November at 8:15 AM with the Abhisheka for Sri Garudadeva. This will be followed by the Dhwaja Arohana ceremony (hoisting of Garudadeva’s flag) and Ashta Dik Palaka Avahana, where important deities and devotees representing the eight cardinal directions are invited to the festival through the chanting of Vedic mantras and the offering of maha-prasadam.

Nitya Puja and Brahmotsava Yajna

Throughout the five-day celebration, daily Brahmotsava Homas will be conducted at 8:15 AM and 4:30 PM, featuring the chanting of Vedic mantras, including the Purusha Sukta. Devotees are warmly invited to participate in the Puja and Yajna and receive the Lord’s blessings.

Unjal Seva and Jhulan Utsava

As part of the Sri Brahmotsava celebrations, special sevas and utsavas will be conducted to invoke the divine blessings of Their Lordships. On 15th November, devotees can participate in the sacred Unjal Seva offered to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, where the Lord and His consort are gently seated on a beautifully decorated swing, accompanied by melodious kirtans and devotional offerings symbolizing peace and protection. On 16th and 18th November, the enchanting Jhulan Utsava will be performed for Sri Radha Govinda, during which the Divine Couple enjoy a joyful swing festival amidst devotional singing, flower decorations, and lamps, creating an atmosphere of transcendental love and bliss.

Kalyanotsava

On 17th November at 5:45 PM, a Kalyanotsava seva will be offered to Sridevi Bhudevi Sameta Narasimha. The marriage ceremony will be conducted for Sri Bhu Lakshmi Narasimha, with devotees acting as family members of the bride and groom, seeking Their blessings for the welfare of all.

Choorna Abhisheka Seva

On the evening of 19th November, a grand Abhiseka will be performed for all the Utsava Vigrahas of the temple, including Sri Sri Radha Govinda, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, and Srila Prabhupada. The Abhiseka will be accompanied by chanting of Vedic mantras and grand kirtans.

Samprokshana

After the grand Abhisekham, the final ritual of the Brahmotsava will include the Samprokshana ceremony, which will sanctify the temple premises and atmosphere. We warmly invite you, along with your family, friends, and colleagues, to join us for the festivities and receive the divine blessings of Srila Prabhupada and the Lord.
