Folk (Friends Of Lord Krishna) - A Youth Empowerment Club

The FOLK program offers highly engaging sessions led by experienced faculty who have dedicated over two decades of their lives as missionaries. A typical Sunday session focuses on applying Vedic wisdom to modern-day challenges, providing practical solutions to common struggles such as stress management, memory enhancement, overcoming bad habits, and achieving excellence in life.

Participants also get opportunities to showcase their talents and skills in service to the Lord. In addition, they undergo identity enrichment courses designed to help them explore their inner selves, fostering intelligence and reflection—an essential need in today’s fast-paced world.
Life is uncertain, and past mistakes can be difficult to correct later. Just as a ship cannot change direction instantly, transforming one’s life requires time and effort. The FOLK program provides young individuals with an opportunity to reshape their lives in a meaningful way. Many participants recognise its immense value, with one describing it as “an experience of a lifetime.”
Alongside insightful discussions, participants also engage in spiritual experiences within the serene atmosphere of the temple. They are introduced to Mantra Meditation, specifically the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, which is especially relevant for the modern age.
Time: From Saturday 4.00 pm to Sunday 6.00 pm
Venue: Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Hare Krishna Movement, MLA Colony, Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034.
Since 2012, the Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad has been imparting spiritual wisdom to the youth through the Friends of Lord Krishna (FOLK) program, inspired by the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. What began as a small initiative has now evolved into a large-scale movement, attracting hundreds of young individuals to the Hare Krishna Temple every Saturday and Sunday.
These gatherings offer an enriching experience filled with spiritual discourses, music, dance, and prasadam—a sacred meal offered to Lord Krishna. The program continues to inspire and transform the lives of young people by providing them with valuable spiritual insights in a joyful and engaging environment.
